The dedication of Saiyad S. Ahmad to health service is partly evidenced by the fact that he switched his career from a lucrative project engineering position with a Fortune 500 company to his current position. Despite holding a Master and Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemical Engineering from Purdue University and working full time as an engineer, he continued to pursue his studies in Oriental Medicine until he achieved National Board Certification in Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) and a Texas license to practice Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine.
He later also received special training in California as an N.A.E.T. certified allergy specialist as well as in compound homeopathy. Prior to opening his own clinic, he had also worked in the Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation Department at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas. He is also member of the Academy of Oriental Medicine and Texas Acupuncture Association and has had a special interest in researching the Medicine of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
He is also a member of the North Texas Islamic Council, the current President of the East Plano Islamic Center since 2011 and led their Outreach Committee from 2007-2011. He is the co-author of the book, “God, Islam & The Skeptic Mind”, which has sold several thousand copies throughout the world and has been given the President’s Award in Indonesia for the best new book in the category of Religion in 2005.
